Christmas books to check out: Gingerbread Friends, Olive the Other Reindeer, How Santa Got His Job

We have made it to December! I don’t know about you but I need some Christmas cheer this year. I have decided to post every day in December for Blogmas! Stay tuned for all of the holiday themed posts. First up, Christmas themed stories that your children will love!

Books are so important for children. I love to switch up Cassidy’s bookshelf for the holidays. Not only does it add to the Christmas magic, it really makes for an experience. Reading together as a family and counting down how many “sleeps” are left until Christmas morning is so special. I am blessed that she loves to read but rotating through her books really helps to keep her engaged.

We have started a tradition in our home by reading books before bed and getting special titles to rotate through our bookshelf. All of these books are available on Amazon, and I encourage you to buy used (which you can do through Amazon). If you aren’t looking to add to your home library, check out your local library or search read alouds on Youtube.

Here are 25 books that you can add to your child’s bookshelf!

Out of all of these titles, my favorite is, Room for a Little One. It tugs at my heart and if you havent read it yet, please do. I have a whole blog post dedicated to this book. Check out There is Always Room. I think it has such a beautiful message for children. It really explains how Jesus is the reason for the season.

Any of these books would make for great gifts. I love getting books in place of toys for children. They are timeless and such an experience. Especially seasonal titles like these. Pair one of these books with some hot cocoa or a festive pair of pajamas, you have the perfect gift.
