April is #cesareanawarenessmonth . As the month has gone on I have read countless birth stories, each one unique. I didn’t have a birth plan, but I never imagined that I would need a c-section. I remember the doctor coming in and his mouth moving but I couldn’t hear or process what he was saying. I was riddled with anxiety. Exhausted. I had been in labor for 24 hours and just got done pushing for 4. I just wanted a healthy baby, no matter what route the medical professionals recommended. 59 2
